Passage to India ****

I admit to not being up to speed with Indian Asian cuisine, but the waiters were more than kind to point out the differences and suggest food in accordance to my taste...last time I had Indian food was in London years ago. Try the Chicken Tikka Masala (delicious!) or the Lamb/Beef Curry… can’t go wrong.

This hole in the wall can definitely offer plenty of exotic cuisine for us that are on a ‘real budget’ and leave you feeling you did it without scrimping on taste or quality… good value.

Ambience: Casual, Romantic

Cuisine: Indian

The Bad:

Extra staff should be sent home or ‘hangout’ elsewhere during slow periods…thought I was at a wait staff convention

Place needs a paint job (check out the purple) - minor issue

Parking may be hard to find, is metered, but .25 gets you an hour before you have to put another quarter in

The Good:

Centrally located in downtown Salem - walkable

Quaint and friendly atmosphere

Romantic and great for lunch or dinner

Plenty for Vegans

Price range: entrees average $13

Date rate: Casual or third or fourth date! Go at night.
